Things to do in Western Australia
Perth (5 days)
Perth is a nice and quiet city. Sights like Kings Park, Bell Tower or the Harbor River are places to go. As a beach lover as I am, you can’t miss Cottesloe Beach and Scarborough Beach. Amazing white sand beaches and easy reachable with the train. The vibe in Perth is totally different than the cities along the east coast.
Perth – Heirisson Island (day trip)
Home to the easiest pet-able Kangaroos, if you find them 😉 Go there if you want to take pictures from wild but not shy Kangaroos. You will definitely be happy when you see these great animals.
Rottnest Island (day trip)
WOW! Rottnest Island is a little gem close to Perth which is famous for its Quokkas, great snorkeling and beautiful colors of the ocean. You can rent a bicycle and ride around the island.
Fremantle (2 days)
Visit the Fremantle Prison, have a cold beer at the Little Creatures Brewery and chill out at the North Fremantle Beach are the main things to do in Fremantle.
Mandurah & Rockingham (2 days)
In those less touristy places you can do a canal dolphin cruise and chill out at the beach.
Pinnacles (1 day)
Those amazing yellow limestone formations within Nambung National Park are a must do visit when you are at the west coast of Australia.
Kalbarri National Park (1 day)
Murchison Gorge, amazing place to see down to the gorge through the “natural window” and a great sport for doing some abseiling.
Monkey Mia (1 day)
If you want to swim with dolphins, that’s a possible place to do it (even I had the feeling they are not really free, even they are).
Coral Bay (1 day)
Coral Bay and the beach looks so beautiful. As the name says, there is no sand, only corals/shells at the beach but the colors of the beach and the water are unreal.
Exmouth, Ningaloo Reef & Turquoise Bay (2 days)
Visit the beautiful Cape Range National park. Turquoise Bay is a stunning beach and the Ningaloo Reef is a great place to do some snorkeling or diving. The corals and the reef is even more intact than at the Great Barrier Reef.
